Baton Rouge? Lafayette?

Anyone heard any rumblings?

Both of this towns have new shopping centers just perfect for an Apple Store, and I am tired of getting sales calls that an Apple Store could be so perfect for...

I've always been perplexed by the lack of an Apple Store in Baton Rouge -- specifically, the Mall of Louisiana. It would seem its location (near to LSU) and the general income level of the area would make it almost a given. It does get aggravating reading about how some areas are getting their third and fourth stores while some states still have none.

I'm a relocated New Orleanian (lost my house to Katrina; didn't move back - long story) and had long hoped for an Apple Store in one of the Metairie malls, but Katrina changed all that. None of the big downtown malls are good sites for an Apple Store (they're arguably tourist malls, though I always said I'd drive to the Riverwalk to go to an Apple Store).

Again, I've relocated, and near Little Rock -- there's a huge mall being built near downtown LR, and I've a lot of hope that Apple may be one of the storefronts within.

Well, the Best Buy in Lafayette has gotten the Mac shop. It's very convenient.

No one would actually confirm the store in LR, but I have spoken to the company responsible for the new LR shopping mall and it is slated to open in August. Hopefully the rumors are correct and there will indeed be an Apple store.
