Hi all,

I thought i would just let know people about my experience at a apple store seminar for a creative position. Some might know that i was not selected for the position. I'm not one bit bitter as i already had a good job. Working for Apple could have been the extra experience i wanted to see on my Cv, but that's about it.

I'm writing today because yesterday was the geneva apple store grand opening. I of course went there (didnt queue though, i'm not a fanboy) to see products and who they recruited.

Guys, seriously, if you have no skills whatesoever, do NOT worry. Apple will hire you if you look cool. I even suspect the recruiter to be gay as all male had this metrosexual look. Also, if you're the only black or asian candidate, chances are VERY high you'd get hired. Local language is french and geneva being close to the french border, they also hired FRENCH instead of Swiss because french would ask LESS money. So expect a very low salary too. On the side note, the people who got selected i saw, didnt speak much english.

So this post is just to lighten up and demystify Apple recruitment. Do NOT worry what's on your Cv, they obviously dont care. They want cool looking people. Also, since working in an Apple store is considered as beginner low end job (except managers of course - and they say there's no hierachie...), be sure your present job is less good because apple WILL take it as a negative attitude and a backward choice of career.

I hope this helps. Do NOT worry at the interview. Skills do NOT matter! I had a little pinch in my heart when they refuse my profile, but when i saw who they hired, i'm glad i didnt get accepted and i now can walk in the apple store as a king and not a servant.
